ABOUT US
Flowers Temple Church of God in Christ was formed in 1929 in the home of Mrs. Fannie White. We were the first sanctified church in Winter Park Florida. The original name of the church was Church of God in Christ, Winter Park. This name remained until the late 1960's. At which time the then current pastor, Elder WH Daugherty, and others voted unanimously to change the name to Flowers Temple. The church’s name is derived from our third pastor, Elder JJ Flowers from Tampa. Elder Flowers and others were instrumental in building the church at its current location (the corner of Capen & Lyman Aves) in 1935. Since its inception, Flowers Temple has had eleven pastors. Elder Aloysius T. Hill is the 11th leader, and has been our shepherd since 2016.
Meet Our Leaders
Pastor Aloysius “Al” Hill is a vibrant, energetic leader who enjoys life and makes no apology for his love for Jesus Christ. He is known for his holistic approach to total man ministry and is often referred to as a “walking Bible.” Pastor Hill accepted his call into the gospel ministry in November of 2007 and became a licensed minister in the Church of God in Christ by April 2008. In 2012, Pastor Hill was licensed and ordained an Elder of Kingdom Purpose Ministries, Inc. This ordination was later confirmed by the Church of God in Christ on August 5, 2016. He certainly is not a novice when it comes to the Word of God and the things of the church. Pastor Hill has been certified by Princeton’s Theological Seminary in Ministry and Theology, called of God to the gospel ministry, and recommended by many as an anointed teacher and prophetic voice. He is a true example of living by the Word of God and boldly declares the unadulterated truth.
Lady Twyla D. Hill is a seasoned entrepreneur, life and business coach, an author, a visionary, and a consultant. Twyla is known for her vibrant approach to life, with a caring heart, and an encouraging spirit. Many observations have also been voiced regarding her out-of-the-box thinking and creativity.
Together, they share four beautiful children: Dante A’darius, Kayla Nikkole (Isaac Ellis), Bryce Elisha and Ethan Thaxter and are grandparents to 4 beautiful Grandchildren: Dash, Kayden, Noah & Charlotte.
